Basket making is one of the world’s oldest crafts. Jack Straws Baskets is one of the few companies with the expertise, experience and stock range to provide a complete service. Jack Straws Baskets has been a family run business since it was established in 1976 when we commenced attending shows and events across the UK, to showcase our products. Now we are the only company exhibiting a full range of basket ware throughout the UK.

Through our website we send baskets over all the UK, to Europe and as far afield as the USA. We quickly built up a network of basket makers in the UK to fulfil our needs. Regrettably, as the years have gone by, the number of quality basket makers in the UK has dwindled. We have a core of makers, mainly for bespoke orders, and import from carefully selected makers from outside the UK, especially for large quantities.

We exhibit at all the major Shows throughout the UK including Badminton, Burghley Horse Trials, Three Counties Show etc. totalling around 100 events a year, also including Christmas Markets. Some of our more recent shows have seen us come away with prizes, for example a second place rosette won at the Royal Cheshire County Show and a Silver Award at the Royal Three Counties Show. Our extensive range is innovative with new designs to suit modern needs whilst maintaining traditional quality. All baskets are hand woven using sustainable materials, mainly willow and rattan, so we are more than confident that our products will be valued long into the future.

The business is run by Mike Crump and his wife, Susie. Mike’s son Jon attends many of the shows so please come and say hello if you’re there. This is a small family run business and we pride ourselves in offering good service and products at realistic prices.
